What We Do: Our Strategic Pillars
Grounded in the conviction that true healing is found through knowing God in His Word, Healing Distress Organization (HDO) merges biblical truth with practical mental health care. Warmly received by both local authorities and communities, we operate on three strategic pillars:
- Scripture Engagement & Practical Care
We meet the holistic needs of the hurting through highly focused, contextualized ministries:
- Trauma Healing Training: Training local Cambodians to help those with mental health problems through facilitators certified by the Trauma Healing Institute.
- Counseling Services: Providing a safe, confidential space for both believers and non-believers to process trauma and emotional wounds. Minority Language Bible Translation: Ensuring minority people groups have direct access to God’s Word in their own language.
-
Media Production: Writing, recording, and distributing indigenous worship songs and videos that speak directly to Cambodian hearts.
- Community Outreach Healing extends beyond counseling sessions and healing groups. We actively invest in the next generation and provide immediate relief through community outreach:
- Youth Support: Providing nutritious meals for youth living in local dorms.
- Education: Supplying critical school supplies and supporting local tutoring programs.
-
Discipleship Mentoring youth and young adults as they navigate life.
Crisis Relief: Offering support for refugees.
- Organizational Integrity
- Governance & Compliance: Building a foundation of administrative integrity, transparency, and legal partnership with local Cambodian authorities.
- Christ-Centered Workplace: Cultivating a thriving, God-honoring staff environment rooted in unity, mutual respect, and internal pastoral care.
Moving From Despair to Enduring Hope
Transformation of the heart is a work that only the Holy Spirit can do. Our role is to faithfully steward the skills and resources God has given us to equip those who suffer. As individuals experience true healing, they restore their relationships with God and others—ultimately driving a positive, generational transformation across entire Cambodian communities.
